How to enable and disable features
Features may be enabled by opening a console and running pluck + <feature>. For example, pluck + system.
Features may be disabled by opening a console and running pluck - <feature>. For example, pluck - system.
- lockfda
- On macOS in Plucky 1.14.34+, the lockfda feature locks full disk access. This option only works if full-disk access has first been granted to Plucky, and it only works correctly on some versions of macOS, such as Monterey. In contrast, locksecurity works for nearly all macOS. See also unadmin. On Plucky 1.17.45+, the lockfda feature is largely unnecessary as Plucky’s self-defense is better on these versions.
- locksecurity
- On macOS in Plucky 1.15.21+, the locksecurity feature prevents certain administrative changes to the computer. It is like the lockfda feature, but more broad. On Plucky 1.17.45+, the locksecurity feature is largely unnecessary as Plucky’s self-defense is better on these versions.
- lockusers
- On macOS in Plucky 1.15.21+, the lockusers feature prevents creation of new user accounts and activation of the guest user.
- nhb
- no-holds-barred is a term used to describe fighting competitions that allow dangerous maneuvers. The nhb feature makes some blocking decisions even more aggressive. It has no effect if the system feature is disabled.
- nobrave
- Prevents Brave (an Internet browser) from being used if the system feature is also enabled (unless allow everything is in effect).
- nochrome
- Prevents Chrome and many Chromium-based browsers from being used if the system feature is also enabled (unless allow everything is in effect). Since Chrome support was lost in 2025, this feature is currently redundant and Chrome will always be blocked when the system feature is enabled.
- noedge
- Prevents Edge from being used if the system feature is also enabled (unless allow everything is in effect).
- nochromesignin
- Prevents signing in to Chrome.
- nochromesync
- Prevents Chrome from syncing.
- nodoh
- Prevents DNS over HTTPS.
- noexpedite
- Prevent expedite from working.
- nofirefox
- Prevents Firefox v57+ from utilizing the Plucky extension.
- nohistoryclear
- Prevents browser history from being cleared.
- nosync
- Disables synchronization to https://u.pluckeye.net/ .
- nouninstall
- Prevents uninstalling while this feature is enabled. Note that uninstalling is automatically prevented if the general delay is non-zero.
- nounrestrict
- Prevents unrestricting a device while this feature is enabled. See restricted devices.
- novivaldi
- Prevents Vivaldi from being used if the system feature is also enabled (unless allow everything is in effect).
- okfirefox
- Required for Firefox support on Windows in Plucky 1.10+. Frequently followed by
pluck repair. - okincognito
- Allows Incognito Mode in Chrome.
- safe
- Enables safe search, safe browing, safe youtube, and similar attempts at “automatic classification.” See the article about safe for a fuller description.
- system
- Filter all programs on the entire computer. This is the most important feature. For a longer description, see this page.
