Steps

To lock down an Android device using Plucky tools:

  1. Factory reset the device (backing up data first).

  2. Install Andoff.

  3. Install a restrictive browser such as the Pluckeye browser on Android

  4. Install other essential apps.

  5. Configure Andoff to block problematic apps (e.g., Chrome).

  6. Optionally installs a monitoring app (e.g., Accountable2You, Covenant Eyes, Safe Surfer, Truple, etc).

What exactly is done in steps 3, 4, 5, and 6 depends entirely on the end-user. Usually deciding what apps to install, remove, allow, or block involves trade-offs between convenience and inconvenience in information access.
