A few tips for how to use Plucky with specific websites.

Bandcamp

https://bandcamp.com/

If you have videos blocked (the default), then tracks on Bandcamp won’t play because Plucky identifies the media as video/mp4 rather than audio. Add allow bcbits.com video/ to your configuration to fix this.

Discord

https://discord.com/

If you use Discord, you will probably want to be able to allow images and videos in some servers (perhaps all of the servers you are in), but not all servers that exist. The one known way to do this is by using the Discord web app in your browser. If you go to https://discord.com/ you can login and use Discord similarly to how you would in a desktop client (though not all features are supported in the browser). All servers and channels have unique URL prefixes that you can use to allow or block them. To allow a server, you would add something like allow https://discord.com/channels/446248878987884449/ to your configuration. And to block a channel within that server, you could use block https://discord.com/channels/446248878987884449/68113643070985755. Garet has found that occasionally he is able to see text in a server that should be blocked, or hasn’t been able to see images in a server that should be allowed. However, he has never seen Plucky allow images or video in the web app when it should not. (The unexpected behavior is probably because web apps generally don’t follow the usual patterns that “normal” websites do.)

Sharepoint

Slides on Sharepoint do not show, regardless of Plucky configuration. This is a known limitation and it may be addressed one day.

Those who absolutely need to see Sharepoint slides on a periodic schedule (e.g., on Mondays 10-11 am) might consider using the following rules along with Firefox. They prevent Firefox from being used ordinarily, but on Mondays from 10-11 am, Firefox will have unfiltered Internet, and Sharepoint slides will work fine in it. The same setup can be done with a number of other browsers; Firefox was chosen simply because few Plucky users usually use Firefox.

pluck + nofirefox
pluck + when M10-11 allow program firefox.exe

Telegram

https://web.telegram.org/

To use the legacy telegram site add ?legacy=1 to the url.

https://web.telegram.org/?legacy=1

To enable login:

pluck + allow telegram.org application/octet-stream

Allowing images or videos on a certain channel is difficult.

A couple alternative clients reported to work well are https://www.cloudveil.org/messenger/ and https://telochat.com/ .
